Marco Giambrone “The limit of the sky” is now available in store in digital format.

Listen and buy here

It’s a pleasure to continue the series of publications with the EP of the Italian musician Marco Giambrone. The first time I listened to ‘The limit of the sky’ his music immediately reminded me of the amazing sountracks of some of Inarritu’s movies. It’s an honour to present in the catalogue such a beautiful and intense work.
About the album Marco says:
“this work was born to collect some improvisations recorded over the last five years. In the moments of pause from my Silent Carnival project, I used to abandon myself into improvisations based almost exclusively on the use of the guitar. The sonic flow, free from song form, often took me to unexpected places, where I tried to combine the raw sound of distortions with the long, circular resonances of reverbs.
If I had to describe this record, I would bring the image of me playing behind a window and I try to translate everything I see and the sensations I feel into sound.”

Wil Bolton “Sumida Colours” is now available in store in digital format and cd.

It’s an honour to present for the first time in the catalogue an artist I admire, Wil Bolton. I never thought that over the years I would introduce so many valuable musicians and this gives me deep gratitude for what is my greatest passion, music.
Sumida Colors is the new work of the profiled London based artist, a nomadic soul that perfectly represents the range of sound colors that I intend to propose in the future.
About the album Wil says: “Sumida Colours is centred around environmental recordings, a toy glockenspiel, bells and furin (wind chimes), all collected during a stay in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, the birthplace of Hokusai.
The title track began by assigning six colours from the palette of Hokusai’s woodblock print ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ to six notes of a musical scale. I then walked the streets of Sumida, taking a photograph each time I saw one of these colours in the details and textures of everyday scenery, and created a musical score from the order in which these colours appeared. “
I sincerely thank Wil for this beautiful gift and all those who will appreciate a work of refined beauty.

Ishmael Cormack “Fennec” is now available in store in digital format.

Listen and buy here

It’s a pleasure to have for the second time in the catalogue Ishmael Cormack who perfectly represents the sound line that I’m looking at for the future.
Ishmael is a gentle soul and all of his works are little gems of pureness and minimalism.
About the album he says: “This work is the result of my interest in Glet Masa’s artwork & my obsession with the word Fennec. It’s a simple work, in which I have tried to honour little moments.”
Thanks to all who will enter into his world. Dedicated to all the fans of Federico Durand and 12k in general.

Benjamin Finger “Auditory Colors” is now available in store in digital format and cd.

Synesthesia is a sensorial-perceptive phenomenon in which certain stimuli evoke sensations of a different nature from that normally experienced: it is possible, for example, to “see” a sound or “feel” a colour. For example, a synaesthetic person can hear sounds while simultaneously seeing coloured lights or numbers projected into the surrounding space. As a result, music becomes an experience that is not only auditory but also visual, while certain words can be endowed with a flavor and letters and numbers are always associated with certain colours. With these concepts Benjamin Finger composed the album Auditory Colors thus creating a kaledoscopicalbum where sounds and colours give the listener a unique and personal sensory experience. An album to listen to in total connection with your soul. Benjamin Finger is a Norwegian artist based in Oslo, he has released with many labels including Eilean Records Karlrecords and Time Released Sound.

Francesco Maria Narcisi “Voluta” is now available in store in digital format and cd.

Voluta is the third solo album by Francesco Maria Narcisi which proposes a suggestive work that combines the modern sounds of the ambient with baroque music, where the notes of the harpsichord mix with electro-acoustic patterns and textures, transporting the listener to a gothic cathedral. Sound architectures that I loved from the first moment and I consider it his masterpiece so far.
Francesco Maria Narcisi is an architect and musician with many influences from electronic, ambient, electroacoustic and abstract music who explores noise, the manipulation of soundscapes and acoustic instruments and the relationship that involves music and arts. He released for Time Released Sound and Unknown Tones.

That Which Is Not “The Basic Sharpness Of Emotions” is now available in store in digital format and cd.

Whenever winter arrives, I am always amazed by the beauty of the colours that the sky can create. I will never tire of looking at the infinite beauty of nature; colours and emotions that I love to associate with sounds of a certain type.
That’s why I really want to present some albums during this season. The first release of 2021 describes in an excellent way the tonal range of this winter, so uncertain, cold and melancholic. That Which Is Not is a beautiful project that combines the sound experiments of Nicola Fornasari (Xu, La Petite Vague, etc) and the instrumental ramifications of Pier Giorgio Storti (Morose, Belaqua Shua, etc) who, with notes of cello and many other instruments, adds nuances to a rich picture of pulsating introspection. “The basic sharpness of emotions” is genreless music, the soundtrack of those timeless winter days, when the snow and the ground are still unknown but are aware they have already met millions of times. A debut that I strongly advise you to listen to in solitude …

“Tropic of Coldness” is a duo formed by David and Giovanni, in Brussels, Belgium, during the autumn of 2011. David is a guitarist, synth and sample player, already active on the Brussels scene with his electro / experimental project “Drawing Virtual Gardens”. Giovanni plays guitar, voice and samples for the North-East Italian band “Fuji Apple Worship”, involved in a melting pot of drones, field recordings and minimal sound sculptures. Since its beginning in November 2011, Tropic of Coldness focused on drones / ambient / electroacoustics originated from improvised session, with layers of processed guitars and synths, surrounded and filtrated by field recordings in a sort of acoustic archaeology. The sound research permeates every single note and the harmonic pattern is oriented towards both instrumental and compositional exploration, in a combination of ambient and electronic elements. Tropic of Coldness have performed live in Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna as well as touring in other cities of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany and their recordings have been issued by respected labels like Organic Industries, Shimmering Moods and Glacial Movements.

Dear all,
I strongly hope you and your families are well and safe in these crazy days.
Today I am going to present two Italian artists: Nāda Mushin and Grotta Veterano. Different styles but with a similar intention, their works are moving with an emotional flow that evolves through long and meditative tracks.
In a sort of way these two works remind me of the different shapes of water: the first, the energy of a waterfall and, the second, the stillness of a lake. And like the concept of Yin and Yang I decided to publish them together.

“Tenue” is the second Nāda Mushin’s work published for KrysaliSound but you can also listen to several self-released works on his Bandcamp page. His hypnotic music continue the path started with the previous album “Mono No Aware”: wall of sounds, drone guitars and Taoist philosophy.

“Luung” is a beautiful finding to me and the first Grotta Veterano’s album for KrysaliSound. His music floats in a balance from ambiental micro-sounds, digital sculptures and gentle notes of piano. He comes from my childhood region, the Friuli, and he released in the past for Midira Records and La Petit Chambre.

Thanks for listening.

Pawel Pruski “Between” is now available in store in digital format and cd.

Dear all
I hope you and your families are well, hoping the worst has passed away.
We have lived through difficult months and I think all of us have had the time to re-evaluate our livesthinking about what is really important and what not. Digitalism won against everything, we have the opportunity to make a make a better world, cleaner and peaceful.
In the end we are a little grain of sand in comparison to nature, maybe it’s the time to take a step backward and think less about our ego. Krysalisound is always sensible about these matters and I think after this new season something will change for the label.
In the meantime it’s a pleasure to start September, one of my favourite months because it signs the end of the hot Italian summer, with such a beautiful album. “Between” is the new work of Pawel Pruski, an amazing Polish artist. His electronic music is gentle and soft, the perfect soundtrack for starting the new season! Thanks from the heart for your attention.

Between. It is interesting to look for what lies between the words, between the moments, between the first and the next particle of sound. There is a completely different picture of music. Its structure is no longer linear and the whole thing is freezing over time. There is no earlier and no later, there is no history and no future, there is no cause and effect. There is only a single moment levitating “in between”.  We don’t need any kind of language or descriptions. “Between” is just a set of these moments.

Thanks
